Here are a few pictures we took during a trail run of the Park-to-Park race route on July 2, 2003. Stretching -- very important! The South Valley -- first 1.4 miles are flat. Phil and Chris goofing up the mountain. After the flat, the route climbs from 5600 up to about 6300 feet up a calf-testing hill. This is the service road that you hit at 6300 feet. Then the trail drops a couple hundred feet down into the Spring Creek Valley -- with one last 500 foot climb ahead.
There are more great views on the way down Mill Creek Trail, but my camera batteries ran out. |
