List of All Successful Colorado 14'er Ascents

Here is a list of all of my successful Colorado 14'ner ascents (including ones that I have done more than once), listed in chronological order. Included are those climbs that did not meet the 3000 foot criteria. Ascents by modes other than hiking (such as biking or by car are not included in this list, but are in a auxiliary list at the bottom). Note - on some days and peak combinations, one may climb one peak, traverse to another, then climb back to the first peak. Generally, I do not include these 'secondary' ascents in this list, since most of the time they only involve a fraction of the climbing of original climb. If I were to climb the same mountain twice in a day from the trailhead, then I would count it in this list.

* These are people that I know that summited the same day as I did (but not necessarily at the same time).

Summit visits by other modes (4):

Pike Peak (by car)    1992

Mount Evans (by car) 1999

Mount Evans (by car) 2000

Mount Evans (by car) 2002

Unsuccessful summit attempts (5):

In 1999, I made a June summit attempt on Longs. I wasn't really that serious about reaching the summit, and settled for Chasm Lake instead. The snow as still feet deep on the lower parts of the trail, so I can just imagine what it must have been like past the Keyhole. Just getting up to Chasm Lake was enough adventure for me that day.

On July 29, 2002, I made a summit attempt on Longs but again acquiesced to the mountain -- I had just donated blood a few days before and the resulting shortage of red blood cells left me feeling lethargic. Dan, Eric, and Steve summitted in 3 hrs! I had an enjoyable time at Chasm Lake, then came back and took a nap. I didn't have to wait too long for them!

I tried to bike up Mount Evans, starting from Echo Lake in 2002. Weather and fatigue turned me back just after Summit Lake.

On June 26, 2005, I made a summit attempt on Challenger Point with Dan, Eric, and Phil. They had done a scary snow climb on Crestone Peak the day before, so when we got to the 12,600 foot level and found cold winds and somewhat threatening winds, they were ready to turn around. I wanted to go further to try to tag the summit, but I accepted the group's decision. I successfully summitted Challenger Point on June 3, 2006.

On May 25, 2007, we made an unsuccessful summit bid on Crestone Peak. Due to low visibility, winds, and cold, we turned back. We successfully summited the next day.
